Vendor questions
What does Buylink do for me as a vendor? Q: What does Buylink do for me as a vendor? A: Buylink makes it easy for retailers to find you based on products they are looking for. They don't have to know who you are: they just have to need your products. Like a tradeshow - except we can take your orders for you, and the cost is practically insignifigant. How do retailers find you on Buylink? See here. To give retailers the best quality information about you, we require that your information be kept completely up to date. Q: What's the process?A: In just a few minutes, your product and contact information will be shown. Start at the Vendor Registration Page to give complete contact information for your company. After your registration is submitted, you'll go to your own Vendor Homepage to load your product information - all you need is a jpeg image and detail info for each product. After that, you can log in regularly to edit, add, or delete product information, and pick up your retailer inquiries and catalog requests. Q: How does it help my reps? A: With thousands of registered retailers able to contact you around the clock, listing on Buylink is the best present you can give to your independent in-house sales force. Many reps currently use Buylink to show their vendor lines. Some vendors prefer to list their reps' contact information in lieu of their own. Q: Does this cost anything? A: Cost information to become a Vendor Member is here. There are other optional fee services to increase your results. Q: How does the Online Purchase Order system work? A: Electing to accept Online Purchase Orders from registered retailers is a great way to simplify the ordering process for you and your retailer. When a retailer submits a PO to you we'll send you a notification via email asking you to access your Buylink vendor account and view the purchase order. You can accept or decline any PO. Q: I'm not hearing much from retailers. Make sure you have selected the best images of your products you have available. Haven't loaded any images for your products? Go to your Vendor Homepage to start. From here you can access your product information and add or improve your product images. Haven't improved product data in awhile. Since the latest products show up first in searches, you'll want to check in frequently to make updates. Not enough products listed. Retailer responses increase with the number of products displayed. Accepting online purchase orders is another way to attract new accounts. Potential accounts may order from your competition if they want to place their orders online. Q: How can I show product images on Buylink?First, you'll need digital images of your products saved in the JPEG format. You can scan traditional photographs using a scanner or you use a digital camera to take digital images. If you have a company that prints your catalog you can request the images from them - they probably already have them scanned and can easily resave them as JPEG files. When adding a new product to one of your lines you'll have the opportunity to load an image after you've provided the initial details for the item. Uploading your digital product images to Buylink is simple. To load an image, click the "Browse" button. This will allow Buylink to load the image directly from your computer. Just select the image from the "Choose File" box and click "Open". All you need to do now is click the "Load This Image" button and you're finished.
